Frequently asked
How much oil does my car take?
Enter your year, make, model, and engine in the finder above for the exact capacity in quarts and liters. Most cars take 4 to 6 quarts with a filter change; larger engines take more.
What kind of oil does my car need?
Most modern engines use a synthetic grade like 0W-20 or 5W-30, but the exact viscosity is set by your manufacturer and varies by engine. Use the finder to get the grade for your car.
Is the oil capacity with or without a filter change?
The capacity we list is the amount with a new oil filter installed. If you do not change the filter, you will usually add slightly less. Always check the dipstick after refilling.
